Resources for communities facing opioid and OD risks

This collection of resources was started initially for First Nations communities facing contaminated opioids and OD risk. These are easy-to-use articles on how to reduce overdose risk, while upholding a harm reduction approach. Additional resources have been added on mental health and wellbeing, community examples, and theories on supporting communities.

Harm reduction honours the individual's right to make choices while reducing the risks associated with substance use, to individuals and to communities. Harm reduction is about giving honour to individuals to make their own choices, usually with a recognition that substance use may be related to prior trauma. It's about healing.
